"Bed Time"

Abigail has achieved a big milestone, she is now sleeping in her own room in her crib. She is sleeping all night now too! The first night, Mommy cried and had bad dreams all night. Daddy had to sneek out of bed to go check on her & he woke her up the next morning so he could play with her before he left for work. The transition from the bassinet to the crib was a big ordeal for Mommy & Daddy, but didn't even phase Abigail.

"Baby's First Thanksgiving"

Abigail enjoyed her first Thanksgiving with her family. We had lunch at Mimi & Honey's with all of her Aunts & Uncles and cousins. Then, we had dinner with Grandma & Grandpa. Of course, Abigail didn't get to experience Thanksgiving the right way since she couldn't eat any turkey & dressing.
Abigail's tuckered out, but not from too much food like everyone else.

"Sitting Pretty"

It's hard to believe that Abigail will be 5 months old on Thanksgiving Day! She now weighs 9 pounds 6 ounces! Abigail is very strong even though she's still so small. She looks like a newborn, but is in the 3-5 month range developmentally. She is sleeping through the night most nights until about 6 am, which is wonderful!

Abigail sitting in her Bumbo chair. Don't worry I'm aware there's be a recall on the chairs.

"Happy Halloween"

My precious little girl keeps me so busy that I've been struggling to find the time to blog. She fights her naps during the day and only naps for 30 min. here & there throughout the day. However, she does sleep well at night! Praise God! She continues to battle reflux, which makes her fussy at times. Abigail also thinks she needs someone to hold her at all times. I don't know how she ended up so spoiled! I've been trying all week to get some good Halloween & fall pics of Abigail, but she had other plans. She's developing quite the personality & she's got a little temper! It's fun to watch her become her own little person! Mimi & I attempting to get a pic of Abigail in her "Build-a-Bear" kitty costume!

We found a Pumpkin Patch at Christ Church United Methodist. It was very hot outside for a fall afternoon!
Abigail & her cousins Halloween at Mimi & Honey's house! Kayla & Abigail had very similiar kitty costumes.

"Daddy Daughter Work Day"

Abigail went to work with Daddy for a few hours one day so that Mommy could get her hair done. Thankfully, Grandpa was close by to help out!

"What a Trooper"

I haven't been able to post in a week or so because my precious daughter thinks she needs to be held all day long. Abigail's just slightly spoiled. I have to work to squeeze in a shower! Make-up, well that's a treat for myself if I actually get to put some on! I have joined a play group through my church with new moms with infants and joined M.O.P.S. (Mothers of Preschoolers) to meet other moms and have some time for myself. I have realized that I really have to work in time for myself, which is important because after all if "Mama ain't happy, nobody's happy!"

James & I took Abigail to our friend Lindsey's wedding where she was a hit. She continues to be a celebrity everywhere we go because everyone has to stop and look and ask "how many weeks?" or we get the comment "she's brand new!" Of course, Abigail doesn't mind all the extra attention one bit! I took Abigail to get her picture taken at the mall and she actually had her eyes open in the pictures. Next time, we'll work on a smile!

Abigail & I attended the Jefferson Wells family picnic, so Honey could show off all his grandkids! We all had a good time despite the humidity! Below are some pics of Abigail & the rest of the gang!

"Mommy I'm hot & tuckered out!"
The stoller bragade! The first picture is of the whole gang minus Honey, Uncle Barry, Uncle Ricky, & James. From left to right: Abigail in her stroller, my 5 month old nephew Colton, my 6 year old nephew Alec, my 10 month old nephew Gannon, & my 6 year old niece Kayla! What a cute group of kiddos! Mimi & Honey are proud of their grandkids!
Abigail & I took a day trip to meet up with Mimi & Mama (great grandmother) in Galveston. Mimi & Honey have a condo in Galveston. Mimi went to spend a few days in Galveston to check on the condo since it was rented out all summer long. Above is a pic of Mommy showing Abigail the Ocean!

"First Week Out"

We have been homebound for the past month per doctor's request. We only left the house to go to doctor's appointments or to Mimi & Honey's or Grandma and Grandpa's house. Our first night out, we went to dinner at PF Chang's and then walked around the mall. We also went to church this week. Of course, Abigail sat with Mommy & Daddy in church, but she behaved herself.

We had doctor's appointments everyday this past week accept for Tuesday. Abigail is three months old and weighs 6 pounds 4 ounces and is 18 inches long. She's doing well.

"First Trip to the Farm"

Abigail took her first little trip to the farm today. We introduced Abigail to the cows and got some pictures. Daddy had to get pictures with the baby and all his farm toys. Grandma & Grandpa were along for the trip and then we went to their farm.

"Mommy's little Doll"

"What a Cutie!"

Abigail is doing well! If only we had a picture of every time we've had to clean the couch or carpet because she's pottied while we were changing her diaper or spit up her nasty vitamin all over the place! She keeps her mommy on her toes!

Kayla my 6 year old niece got to hold Abigail for the first time. Kayla wasn't able to visit Abigail while she was in the N.I.C.U. However, we did sneek her in one time for a little peek because she would cry when her parents came in to see the baby, but she couldn't. Kayla commented, "she's like a baby doll, but she breathes."
Abigail likes her Boppy time!

"First Week Home"

Abigail did very well her first week at home. Thanks to the hospital she is on a schedule and eats every 3 hours and goes right back to sleep without crying. We went to the eye doctor and pediatrician this week, they were both impressed by her progress. Abigail has not needed her oxygen at all, yeah! The apnea monitor has only gone off a handful of times (of course that's after mom & dad figured out how to keep the false alarm from going off).

"Home Sweet Home"

Abigail is finally home! She was discharged from the hospital Friday, August 17th. She now weighs 4 pounds 3.8 ounces and is 16 1/2 inches long. She came home with an apnea monitor and oxygen if she needs it. She will be followed by several doctors, but is doing well considering her prematurity. Mommy & Daddy are so excited to finally have their precious baby girl home! Thank you for all of your prayers & support!

Abigail gets her first bath by Mommy & Daddy. One of the nurses gave Abigail her own personalized tub.

This is a picture of Daddy holding Abigail in the "Care by Parent room." The "Care by Parent" is a hotel type room set up in the back of the neonatal intensive care unit in which the parents stay with the baby the night before the baby is discharged home. The nurses are right outside if they are needed and the room is set up like a hospital room, just with a queen size bed for the parents.

"No More Feeding Tube"

Abigail is just trucking right along. She had her feeding tube removed and is taking all 8 of her feedings. Abigail now weighs a big 4 pounds 2 ounces! We are still working on weening her off the oxygen, but she's almost there. The big news is that Abigail will get to come home possibly at the end of this week! God is Good!!! Thank you for all of your prayers!

"Out of the Box!"

The last few days have been very big days for Abigail! Abigail is finally out of the incubator and in an open crib! She's also eating 6 out of 8 of her feedings! Only 2 more feedings to go and the feeding tube will be removed! We are working on weening her off the oxygen! The doctors are really beginning to prepare her to be discharged home!
