"First Week Home"

Abigail did very well her first week at home. Thanks to the hospital she is on a schedule and eats every 3 hours and goes right back to sleep without crying. We went to the eye doctor and pediatrician this week, they were both impressed by her progress. Abigail has not needed her oxygen at all, yeah! The apnea monitor has only gone off a handful of times (of course that's after mom & dad figured out how to keep the false alarm from going off).
Daddy loves his little girl!

"Home Sweet Home"

Abigail is finally home! She was discharged from the hospital Friday, August 17th. She now weighs 4 pounds 3.8 ounces and is 16 1/2 inches long. She came home with an apnea monitor and oxygen if she needs it. She will be followed by several doctors, but is doing well considering her prematurity. Mommy & Daddy are so excited to finally have their precious baby girl home! Thank you for all of your prayers & support!

Abigail gets her first bath by Mommy & Daddy. One of the nurses gave Abigail her own personalized tub.

This is a picture of Daddy holding Abigail in the "Care by Parent room." The "Care by Parent" is a hotel type room set up in the back of the neonatal intensive care unit in which the parents stay with the baby the night before the baby is discharged home. The nurses are right outside if they are needed and the room is set up like a hospital room, just with a queen size bed for the parents.

"No More Feeding Tube"

Abigail is just trucking right along. She had her feeding tube removed and is taking all 8 of her feedings. Abigail now weighs a big 4 pounds 2 ounces! We are still working on weening her off the oxygen, but she's almost there. The big news is that Abigail will get to come home possibly at the end of this week! God is Good!!! Thank you for all of your prayers!

"Out of the Box!"

The last few days have been very big days for Abigail! Abigail is finally out of the incubator and in an open crib! She's also eating 6 out of 8 of her feedings! Only 2 more feedings to go and the feeding tube will be removed! We are working on weening her off the oxygen! The doctors are really beginning to prepare her to be discharged home!
