"Home Makeover"

A few weeks ago, James & I finally started updating the home we live in.  We have been needing to replace the backdoors because they were wood & cracked.  So, one Sunday while James stayed home with the Abigail because she was sick, I went to church because it was our week to serve in the nursery.  I came home and didn't have a back door at all, James had started the process of changing out the doors all by himself.  If you know my husband, he can stand to sit still.  Then, we replaced the laminate flooring in the utility, kitchen, breakfast room, entry way, & Abigail's bathroom with tile.  Well, my brother did the tile work, we just picked out the tile & paid him for his work.  Then the following Sunday, James & his workers pulled out the carpet in the living room & dinning room & installed laminate wood floors.  They finished in one day, which was a good thing because both Abigail & I were getting fussy with the house being under construction.  I had a hard time with the house being messy.  Abigail was very upset that her toys were not where they were supposed to be!  She had several very big temper tantrums and was back to her sweet self once the house was back in order.  I love my new floors & I'm so happy to have finally gotten rid of the nasty stained carpet!  Now, I need some rugs for under the coffee table & dinning room table.  It's much harder to find rugs than I anticipated, so it might be a while before I find something I like that has the right colors.  These pics are for all you bloggers who aren't on facebook.

"Pool Time!"

This is my 3rd post to the blog today!  I have been so bad about blogging lately!  We have been very busy & time just seems to get away from me these days!  My cousin Renee is visiting from California with her two kids & my Aunt Sandra got them a room at the Woodlands Resort & Conference Center so they could enjoy the awesome pool!  We took advantage of hanging out at the pool!  Abigail loved the kiddie pool because she could just walk around!  She also loved the beach front entrance of the big pool!  Abigail & I spent some time swimming Friday morning, then we went back Friday night after James finished working!  Friday night, The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center showed a movie poolside!  How fun is that, to get to watch a movie while you're swimming!  Abigail had a blast, but was up way past her bedtime!  She finally said, "Ready, home!"  Abigail is starting to say phrases & short sentences!  It's so fun to be able to communicate with her!  Of course, when Abigail gets excited she doesn't always make sense when she's talking, but it's still cute!

"2 Year Stats & Pics!"

Last week, I took Abigail to her 2 year well child check-up!  Abigail was getting over a little virus, so she wasn't quite herself!  However, the pediatrician was still very impressed with how well Abigail has done despite being so premature!  Abigail weighs 23 lbs., which puts her in the 1oth percentile for weight!  She's only 31 inches tall, so she's in the 3-5 percentile for height!  Our little girl is vertically challenged just like her parents!  Abigail's head circumference is 17 3/4 inches, which is in the 5 percentile!  Abigail is still a petite little girl, but she is on the charts & growing like she's supposed to be growing!  Praise God!!!  James & I can't believe how big Abigail has gotten in just a year!

Pic in Rodeo outfit before it got too small!!  Too late for a pics in the boots, couldn't even get them on her foot!!  Oh, well!!

"Father's Day!"

Father's Day this year was a busy day!  We started off the morning visiting "Pa Pa" (James's Dad)!  Then we went to church & Abigail got to wear her birthday dress to church since her birthday was the very next day!  After church, we went to Mimi & Honey's house for lunch & to go swimming with my family!  In addition, to celebrating Father's Day, we also celebrated Uncle Barry's birthday (Abigail shares the same birthday with uncle Barry) and Uncle Holland's birthday!  Wow, that's a lot in one day!  James & I were both blessed with wonderful fathers!  I am so thankful for the man that James is & for the amazing Father he is to Abigail!!  We are so blessed!!
