This pregnancy has started off different from my last pregnancy, so hopefully that's a good thing! I was having symptoms this time around before I missed my period, which was different! When I called my doctor's office to schedule my OB appointment, the lady on the phone had me come in at 4 weeks, which I thought was weird! However, I was happy about going in to see the doctor earlier! I wanted to have my progesterone levels checked to make sure I wouldn't need progesterone supplements because I had to take them during my 1st trimester with Abigail! My hcg levels showed an early pregnancy, no surprise there! I went in last week for blood work again just to double check the hcg levels & the levels had increased quite a bit, which made me get nervous that there was more than one baby! Today, we went for an ultrasound and I'm only measuring 5 1/2 weeks, so I'm a week off! I was a little disappointed because I really wanted to see the heartbeat, but I had to remind myself the only thing that matters was that everything looks good! I didn't see my Dr. because there was no reason to see him since there weren't any concerns! So, I'll go back in two weeks for another ultrasound, hopefully we'll get to see the heartbeat then! I'm still waiting to hear back on my progesterone levels, but since I haven't had any spotting this time around, I'm taking that as a good sign that my levels are okay! I have been off my blood pressure meds for two weeks now and my blood pressure has been good! Praise God!!! I've been exercising, drinking lots of water & no caffeine, and watching my sodium! I'm trying to take better care of myself this time around! I was hoping to post ultrasound pics, but there's not much to see yet!

Yes, that's right James & I are expecting baby #2!! A few weeks ago I was at my parent's house & told my mom I felt sick. Well, I ended up throwing up & my mom told me then that I was pregnant. I told her there was no way I was pregnant, well I was wrong! I have continued to feel nauseated off & on throughout the month. Then, Christmas morning James put an ovulation kit & pregnancy tests in my stocking. However, he kept the receipt because he was hoping for a positive pregnancy test in his stocking. Last Saturday, I took a pregnancy test and there were two lines, but you could barely see the second line. I told James when he got home from the farm & he was so excited! I mean excited, like a kid in a candy store! I told him I wasn't sure to not get too excited! So, Sunday morning I took another pregnancy test & there were two lines & the second line was a little more visible this time! I didn't remember having any questions when I was pregnant with Abigail & used the same pregnancy tests, so I wasn't sure what was going on. James & I agreed we weren't going to tell anyone until we knew for sure. Of course the first thing James did when we got to church was tell our pastor under pastor confidentiality! Then, I had to ask a friend of ours that's a nurse & goes to our church about the pregnancy tests. The funny thing about this part is that Jason & Jeanette were the first ones we told we were pregnant with Abigail. After church, we stopped by CVS for a digital pregnancy test so there wasn't anymore confusion. As you can see from the pictures above, there's no more confusion!
I wanted to find a big sister shirt for Abigail to tell our parents, but didn't have any luck. So, James told his parents at dinner Sunday night by saying, "The reason why we were late for dinner is that Ashley wanted to go by Babies r' us to find a big sister shirt for Abigail!" James's Mom responded with, "Do you have an announcement to make?" James's Dad just sat there & didn't say a word, which is pretty typical! James says he was smiling ear to ear! We were able to be a little more creative with my parents. I just happened to be making my mom a photo calendar, so I called & told her the calendar was ready. We printed off the pictures of the positive pregnancy tests & picked up a cheap calendar from Walmart. We taped the pictures in the calendar, so my parents would see them as they flipped the calendar. My parents were puzzled at first when I gave them the calendar. They were just smiling looking at the calendar when James said, "these are our latest pictures!" My Dad responded, "No way, you're pregnant!" My Mom said, " You're pregnant, I told you!" They were both very happy for us! My parents were so excited they told me I had until the morning to tell my siblings because they wanted to tell everyone! A few hours later my parents posted the news on facebook, so our exciting news was out of the bag! At first, I was kind of nervous in case something happened with the pregnancy but then I realized if something did happen with the pregnancy I would want the support of family & friends anyways so it doesn't matter! Plus, James & I are too excited to keep this exciting news a secret! James & I found out we were pregnant with Abigail New Year's Eve 2006 & her due date was September 9th! This time around, we found out January 2nd & the due date is around September 13th 2010! Isn't that funny that it's only a few days apart!
I go to the doctor tomorrow to find out more information. I am expecting to be put on a special diet and be monitored more closely this time around! I know that God is in control & all things are from HIM & for HIM!
