"Mother's Day 2010!"

Mother's Day 2010 was bitter sweet for me. I couldn't help but get a little teary eyed in church Sunday morning as I watched the families dedicating their children & babies. I was thinking, we would have been dedicating our own baby at the next dedication had I not miscarried. I am so thankful for my daughter & the beautiful gift she is to me. However, I have just been struggling these last few months waiting for my body to heal so we can expand our little family. I have to be honest, it's difficult for me to not be obsessive about it. I think having a miscarriage just makes you want to be pregnant again that much more. I have to give this struggle over to God daily because I know that he's in control & has a plan. I need to just be at peace & know that his timing is perfect, but it's easier said then done.
Okay, back to Mother's Day. We had breakfast with James's mom. We picked up breakfast & took it to them because James's dad is still recovering from his surgery. After church, we went to celebrate with my mom & family. My family never does ANYTHING on time, which is stressful on me. My grandmother wanted to go to the park with the kids, so that's what we did. I had so much fun watching the kids play. I wish I would have taken my camera. We also met my younger brother's girlfriend. It was a long day & Abigail did not have a nap, so it was an early night for us!
My flowers from James & Abigail! I also got chocolate covered strawberries!

This is the best picture I was able to get with my little girl!

This is what Abigail was doing while I was getting ready for church!

"A fun day with Daddy!"

A few weeks ago, we were able to spend the whole entire day with Daddy which NEVER happens unless we take a vacation somewhere! We weren't able to go to church because Abigail had low grade fever (99 degree temp) & random bouts of diarrhea. I knew by mid afternoon on Saturday that we weren't going to be able to go to church because Abigail still had the low grade temp & wouldn't be fever free for 24 hours. We had to take James's mom back down to MD Anderson, so we decided it would be a fun time to go to the zoo! I figured fresh air would be good for Abigail & she LOVES to be outside! She was never playing directly with any other children, so I wasn't worried about her getting anyone else sick! However, I did feel super guilty about staying home from church because Abigail was sick & then going to the zoo! How silly is that?

Anyways, for those of you that know my husband, you know that he goes to the farm every Saturday. Sundays are our family days. We usually spend them going to church & doing something around the house or in the Woodlands. We don't get a whole day with James unless we're on vacation somewhere. I have taken Abigail to the zoo several times, but this was the 1st time for James to go with us. I packed us a picnic lunch. We dropped Grandma off at MD Anderson & then we headed to the zoo. We were there for several hours. Abigail had lots of fun! She was a little more clingy than usual & wanted James to carry her most of the time. We had to ride the train before we left the zoo, which is Abigail's favorite part! Abigail was asleep as soon as we started the car! We drove around looking at some of the railing James made that's along the Bray's Bayou while Abigail took a nap. We stopped back by MD Anderson to visit James's dad. We found a large lobby away from patient rooms on the 2nd floor where Abigail could run around & play. Then, on our way home we stopped and ate dinner at The Aquarium downtown! Abigail spotted the horse & carriage and wanted to ride them. It cost $20 to go on a short little ride, but her Daddy didn't have any problem handing over the cash for his little princess! Abigail enjoyed looking at all the fish while we ate dinner. We let her pick out her own dessert as a special treat. She had fun eating her chocolate chip ice cream sandwhich, although, she only took a few bites and she was done! We all had such a fun day despite Abigail not being 100%! We need to plan a little vacation of some sorts for this year as soon as James's Dad gets out of the hospital and things settle down a little around here!
